I am going to a baby shower this afternoon. Since many of our readers have babies, will have babies in the future, or host/attend baby showers, I thought this was worth sharing. I haven't seen it before, but as Sam would do, I give it a double-thumbs-up!
Along with the invitation, there was a pink card inserted in the envelope which reads:
"The parents-to-be would prefer gently used gifts (i.e. books, toys, clothes) in lieu of new things. Check out "Once Upon a Child", "Thrifty Child", or Amazon.com. Or consider donating to their diaper service"
(The first 2 are baby resale shops in Chicago if you aren't familiar, and the diaper details are included)
What a great way to focus on being eco-friendly from birth. Reduce consumption, reuse hardly touched newborn items, recycle your favorites. Nice effort!
