A puzzle: So, what to do if the lens of your glasses pops out mid-flight between Sydney and Los Angeles? In the dark plane where most people are sleeping?
Answer: Get your husband with his freaky eagle-eyes over to dig around and find the missing, nearly invisible lens in the dark. (Obviously you can't see anything at this point - you have one lens on and one lens missing, and anyone will tell you that combination will REALLY mess with your eyesight.) Then, in desperation, use a Toy Story 3 band-aid to tape lens back into frame. Continue to fly to Los Angeles. Walk around LAX for a few hours looking like a total freak show, but forget that you look like a freak because, hey, you can't see your own glasses! Then fly to Chicago exhausted, wearing crazy McGyver glasses, with 3.5 year old boy climbing all over you and your cozy middle seat. I'm sure we were DELIGHTFUL for the regular, clean looking business man sitting next to us. Sigh. Best I could do.
Home to an empty fridge. Would you like a condiment with that beer?
And hey - we have nothing on the calendar! At all. For weeks. (This actually represents how my brain felt about our schedule. No idea what was on it.)
