Last Day of Kindergarten

June 17th was Alice's last day of Kindergarten!  Hooray!  Something about school getting out just guarantees that fun times are here.   Alice and her 6th grade buddy, Rilla, posing by the school sign.

Rilla walked Alice to the bus, looked after her, and was, in general, an all-around-great-friend to Alice this year.  We will miss Rilla going off to middle school.   As a farewell present, Alice thought we should give her 2 caterpillars that we found in the backyard.  A very thoughtful and personal present (which Alice delivered to the 6th grade classroom).  We also gave her a sweatshirt for Lane Tech high school.

Alice, Joey and Lily got the lucky number - they got to lead the pledge of allegiance on the last day of school!

Sam and Greta, Lily's younger sister.  Greta just turned 2.  She and Sam have formed a special bond this year as well.  Lots of waiting around time when you're the second child.....

Sam was very confused about why school was only 1 1/2 hours on the last day.  That doesn't really make sense to anyone, does it?

Yay!  You're free!  Congratulations, first-grader!

Hopefully we'll get together with some of Alice's friends over the summer, like maybe Chloe.

And Sam is looking forward to starting Montessori school in the fall....
