Pa had a birthday in Chicago!! He requested a Pizza D.O.C. dinner (mmmmm!) and then we planned to take him out for his favorite dessert. But Sam got confused between the restaurant and the ice cream shop about why we were in the car, and worried about the possibility that we were going home! Oh no! So Sam started crying and crying and crying, in uncharacteristic fashion, "But I.... want....
ice cweam.....
sniff sniff sniff...." The problem was - he was highly adorable and we were all completely caught off guard by his tears. So much for keeping the ice cream a surprise!

Everyone else ordered a cup of ice cream. But not the birthday boy! That slightly embarrassed look Pa has is because they brought out a bathtub-sized raspberry ice cream sundae with about 15 scoops of ice cream in it...... oops!
